summer52502's Full Review: Britax Boulevard - Mosaic Convertible Car Seat
After recent reports of car seat safety came out, we decided that our daughter's current carseat would no longer cut it. Upon spending hours researching various carseats, we came to the conclusion that Britax would be the safest seat for our daughter.
Several more hours of research later, we decided upon the Britax Boulevard. Like the other popular Britax seats - the Marathon and the Decathalon, the Britax Boulevard allows your child to be in a five point harness up to 65 pounds. This means years and years of the safest type seating for your child. But, the feature that makes the Boulevard unique and ultimatley sold us on it was the True Side Impact Protection. The TSI comes in the form of the "wings" that are located on either side of your child's head. They are padded with a comfort padding, and more importantly, EPS foam. This is the same foam that can be found in the helmets of race car drivers, and is a huge bonus in protecting your child's head. The True Side Impact is especially important if, like us, your child will be sitting against the door of a car without side curtain airbag protection. It offers some wonderful peace of mind that your child is as safe as they can be.
Another great feature of the Britax Boulevard is the ability to lower the harness and TSI wings with just the turn of the knob. Anyone who has dealt with car seats knows what a pain it is to have to take the car seat out and adjust the harness. You have none of that hassle with the Britax Boulevard.
The Britax Boulevard Mosaic is honestly not one of the most attractive seats that Britax has to offer. The Boulevard line has limited patterns compared to the Marathon. We bought this pattern because it was on sale, and while it may not be as cute as some of the other car seat patterns, the safety of the seat is really what is important.
The Britax Boulevard Mosaic is well worth the high price tag to protect your most precious cargo - your child.
