bgoodday's Full Review: Reckitt Benckiser Old English Scratch Cover for Da...
We just finished remodeling the basement and there is a very large recreation room down there for me. The reason I say me is because I love to play pool and that is the area where we keep the pool table. I play on several leagues throughout the year. I also like to participate in tournaments when my time allows. Okay back to the reason I call it my recreation room. That is because my wife and sons had the room designed especially for me.
When I went away on a business trip in February they remolded the entire room. They painted it; put up wallpapered and even had a new floor put in. Then they had a friend of ours come over and decorate the room with all of the things I have collected over the years. They polished all of the wood tables with Old English Scratch Cover for Dark Wood so that it all looked brand new. The cleaned the tops of the tables with leather cleaner and brought out the original luster of the pieces.
I have to say that the 8 ounce bottle of Old English Scratch Cover for Dark Wood is probably one of the most economical ways to keep your furniture looking like new. It works very well to remove small scratches in your furniture. It is not going to do much to help a scratch that is really deep but for surface scratches it is what my youngest son likes to call miracle oil.
You must push down on the top and twist counter clockwise to get it off. There is a very small hole in the top of the container so the oil does not come out to quickly. It is dark and so you want to make sure that you apply it with a cloth that you no longer wish to use for anything else. You wipe it on all wood surfaces and to remove small scratches you gently rub the scratch with oil I have found that rubbing in a circular motion seems to work the quickest. You must not touch the surfaces for a few minutes so that the wood has time to absorb it all in.
You can purchase Old English Scratch Cover for light wood as well. We purchase the original version but if you like the scented kinds they also offer a lemon version. This eight ounce bottle only cost us $4.79 a bottle at the grocery store. We use this oil to help keep the moisture in all of the wood pieces around our house. It has been a trusted tool in our cleaning arsenal for years and will remain in there for as long as it is made.
