Pros: Each mattress raises effortlessly and is the ultimate in comfort for television viewing in bed. Cons: Limited return policy was not explained. Concern for dog's safety was not addressed.
My husband and I purchased the top of the line, split king model from Select Comfort. The unit is actually two extra long twins placed on two twin foundations. It has wireless individual remote controls for the elevation of head and legs and for ...
Pros: adjustability Cons: Warranty, motor, No return policy, heavy
I've sold many , many adjustable foundation and I just recently found out that Select Comfort has nothing to do with the warranty of this product and there is NO RETURN POLICY or trial period!! I had to totally ignore my customers because once the ...
Pros: My husband uses the incline to watch TV. Cons: Enumerated above.
I have a king-size (two twins) adjustable 9000 series bed. At the time of purchase I was told the product was returnable, and even the sheet sets were returnable. I was told I would have to pay a return/restock fee of about $200. Through several phone calls to the store because of difficulty operating the foundation and adjusting the bed, I expressed my displeasure and my inclination to return it. NEVER did anyone point out that only the mattress is returnable and the adjustable foundation is ours for life once it is set up in our home. From what I've read here, it seems this deception is company policy. As for the foundation, I cannot take advantage of the massage feature because my husband goes to sleep before me and it is far too noisy, even in our carpeted room. (One Select Comfort salesman admitted to me that on his hardwood floors it sounds like an earthquake.) Now we are stuck with a bed we don't really want because even if we return the mattress, the foundation is not appropriate for an innerspring bed.
Pros: love the adjustable foundation Cons: ruins love life.
the bed is comfortable, but the adjustable air foundation is over-rated. The ad's tout how each partner can adjust the bed to their liking. But they don't tell you that you are sleeping essentially in separate twin beds.
We have the "split king" which is literally nothing more than two twins set side by side.
I can say that it is difficult to keep up an active love life because you have to crawl over a middle divider (The amish have a tradition called the "bundling bar", that this must be based on.) Then, when you are on the other side, there's not much room, and if the beds are differnt pressures, there's a difference of up to several inches to account for.
We got the bed in part because "the wife" has a difficult time getting to sleep and likes the vibrations and adjustable foundation. We can easily watch TV or read.
Beware of Return Policy by frankenmuth ,Apr 22 '04
Pros: Bed is comfortable and as promised! Cons: Return Policy is not as explained. You can only return or exchange 1/2 the bed!
We purchased this bed for my 75 year old mother, who was coming out of the hospital the next day. She has a spinal cord compression and COPD and a possible stroke. The sales man upsold me from the twin I wanted to a Queen, adjustable bed. He said it was fully returnable with in a 30 day trial period. Well Mom's been home for 14 days now and the 24 hour aides that take care of her cannot function in this bed! When I called the store they gave me a customer service number, which informed me that the mattress is returnable, but not the adjustable frame! That is not what the salesman told me, "Well It's on the receipt" they said, gee that must be why when I looked the salesman gave me a "price quote" not a receipt!!! I don't want a refund, I want a twin bed, like I wanted in the first place, that would be comfortable for my Mom and that the aides can care for her in! We'll even pay the shipping to return the frame. Why won't Select Comfort help a hospice patient to be comfortable?????
I Have A Select Comfort Adjustable Foundation by meatmanky ,Mar 06 '04
Pros: Made by Leggett & Platt, the number one adjustable maker says it all. Cons: I guess they want me to make up something?
We haven't found any cons!
Made by Leggett & Platt, the number one adjustable foundation company in the country says it all.
The adjustable foundation I bought from Select Comfort performed exactly as it was demonstrated to me.
The wireless remote has numerous functions that can control from head to toe every area of your bed.
It even has a massage/vibrator built into the foundation itself.
We bought a split King 7000 which means we have 2 twin long beds and an adjustable foundation for each mattress.
The controls are independent which allows my wife to sit up and read while I am laying flat on my back snoring.
We have a 20 year warranty that we hope we will never have to use.
Knowing that is was made by Leggett & Platt means we don't have to worry about service.
They aren't going anywhere (as in out-of-business).
We have had our "Precision Comfort" foundation for about 5 weeks and it has been flawless.
If you can get over the $2000.00 barrier you will pay for a King and about $1000 for the Queen you will simply love them! They have been flawless in performance.
